Riempies started out with an old Yamaha 100cc two stroke scrambler. After that he built and sold bikes, just to get a better bike each time. But it has always been a two stroke thing with him.
He completed his first Roof of Africa in 2004 and has repeated this feat six more times. He also competed in Erzberg Rodeo Extreme Enduro in Austria, in 2011.
