I’ve been quiet the last week or so but it’s not been laziness, Riempies and I have been VERY busy!
The great news to start today is that “we” eventually managed to sort out the troublesome jetting on Riempies’s PZ490 for the Roof in 2 weeks. This was a major stumbling block and had the whole technical team scratching their collective heads with Riempies and I doing the actual work trying out all the combinations and permutations. Riempies eventually solved the shit by fitting a wildly different needle, he’s had for many years and never knew what to do with it to one of the 4 carbs we’ve been trying out, and it worked, just like that!
Please don’t ask any fancy questions as to why, we’re just happy that it’s working and we’re old enough not to have to try and understand everything! The bike is a dream to ride, it deliver tree trunk pulling torque right off the bottom and revs out cleanly, Riempies is quietly confident that it will work well in the Lesotho rocks!
